RICK KELLER

Rick KellerRick Keller was born in Syracuse, New York, and began playing the saxophone when he was eight years old. He was awarded a scholarship to study music at the University of Miami where he stayed for four years. After college Keller moved to Germany and has been working throughout Europe as a musician, composer and arranger ever since.

One Take is Keller’s first solo jazz recording after performing and recording as a sideman with Benny Bailey, George Russel, Billy Cobham, Bill Bruford, Chaka Khan, Joe Sample, Steve Ferrone, Barbara Dennerlein, among others. One Take features Rick Keller’s original compositions and a band of dedicated musicians who interpret them. Keller’s respect for the art of Jazz and his reverence of Jazz masters past and present has continued to fuel his performance and compositional abilities. Rick Keller’s honest approach to his craft and his creative ambition define the meaning of Jazz.
